A Tennessee man who has fathered 30 children is asking the courts for a break on child support.

Desmond Hatchett, 33, of Knoxville has children with 11 different women, reports WREG-TV.

The state already takes half his paycheck and divides it up, which doesn’t amount to much when Hatchett is making only minimum wage. Some of the moms receive as little as $1.49 a month. The oldest child is 14 years old.

Hatchett explains how he reached such a critical mass: He had four kids in the same year. Twice.

Back in 2009 when Hatchett was in court to answer charges that many of the mothers were not receiving child support, he had 21 children. At the time, he said he was not going to father any more kids, but he ended up having nine more in the past three years.

The state cannot order Hatchett to stop making babies. He hasn’t broken any laws, according to the report.

A man listed as witness 13 was one of the first people to approach Zimmerman minutes after the shooting. He saw him bleeding from the back of the head and nose. Zimmerman asked the unidentified man to call his wife for him.

“Let her know what’s happening, been involved in a shooting and will be held for questioning,” the witness told the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. “He was more like, talking like he was having a hard time, looked like he just got his butt whipped … not like he was in shock, not like, ‘I can’t believe I just shot someone,’ but like, ‘Just tell my wife I just shot someone,’ like it was nothing.”

A woman identified as witness 5 walked out of her home after hearing the altercation to find Zimmerman standing over Martin’s body. She said she asked him what was going on and he curtly said just, “Call the police.”

The woman told police that Zimmerman, 28, examined Martin’s body as he slowly paced back and forth when the police arrived. She watched as they checked the teen’s body and turned him over, eventually starting CPR. But he was already dead for five or 10 minutes, she said.

“I do honestly feel that he intended for this kid to die,” witness 5 told investigators. “If you’re in self defense, shoot him in the leg. He’s a 17-year-old, scrawny little kid. You get into a physical fight with him. … I think the kid was running for help.”

Zimmerman is charged with second degree murder for the Feb. 26 killing.

Martin was in Sanford, Fla., while serving a suspension from his Miami school for being caught with an empty marijuana bag. At the time of the shooting, he was staying at the home of his father’s girlfriend. An autopsy found THC, the intoxicating chemical in marijuana, was in his system.

At 7:11 that night, Zimmerman, a member of the area’s neighborhood watch, had called 911 to report a suspicious teenager. Minutes later, the police dispatcher told Zimmerman to stop follwing Martin. Moments later, Zimmerman got out of his car. That’s when the two met and Martin was killed.

Zimmerman has claimed that when he shot the 6-foot, 160-pound teenager he was on his back and Martin was astride him pounding away.

The key problem facing investigators is an 80-second gap between the time Zimmerman hung up with police at 7:15 p.m. and when the first 911 calls from terrified neighbors began flooding in.

A man identified only as witness 6 told investigators that he heard a commotion coming from the walk behind his residence. He witnessed a black male wearing a dark-colored “hoodie” on top of a white or Hispanic male who was yelling for help.

Zimmerman was at close range when he shot Trayvon Martin, being no more than 18 inches away when firing the fatal shot.

Zimmerman, 28, is currently at an undisclosed location as he currently awaits trial. He faces life in prison without parole. He may also be charged with a hate crime as the FBI continues its investigation.

NBC News - Prosecutors on Thursday made public a trove of evidence used to justify murder charges against Neighborhood Watch volunteer George Zimmerman, including a police report that concluded “the encounter between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin was ultimately avoidable by Zimmerman.”

The evidence – including 183 pages of documents, witness statements and other material – was released Thursday to news organizations and other requestors by special prosecutor Angela Corey’s office, who has charged the 28-year-old Zimmerman with second-degree murder in the killing of 17-year-old Martin on Feb. 26 in Sanford, Fla. Also included was a document explaining what material was withheld.

An initial review of the evidence, which was provided to Zimmerman’s attorney early this week, uncovers documentation that will be helpful to both prosecutors and the defense. An autopsy by the Volusia County Medical Examiner on Martin’s body found that the teenager was killed by a shot to the heart and that traces of THC — or tetrahydrocannabinol, the active ingredient in marijuana — were found in Martin’s blood, though below the level that medical studies indicate would have caused “performance impairment.”

But the documents give contradictory assessments of how far away Zimmerman was when he shot Martin.

Lab tests by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Orlando operations center concluded that residue tests on Martin’s sweatshirt were “consistent with a contact shot” — that is, one in which the muzzle of the weapon is physically touching the victim.

But the autopsy report from the Volusia County (Fla.) Medical Examiner’s office reached a different conclusion based on examination of the wound itself, saying, “This wound is consistent with a wound of entrance of intermediate range.”

The report doesn’t define “intermediate range.”

In another report, a police officer responding to the shooting said that after Zimmerman was handcuffed, he saw “that his back appeared to be wet and was covered with grass,” and that he had suffered a bloody nose – consistent with Zimmerman’s account that he was attacked by Martin.

The revelation that Trayvon Martin had drugs in his system comes as prosecution prepared to release hundreds of pages of evidence with crime scene photos and videos.

Zimmerman, the 28-year-old white Hispanic man who shot Martin, claims he shot the teen in self-defense though Martin was unarmed.  After almost 44 days since the shooting, Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder and is now facing life in prison without the possibility of parole.  He may also be charged with a hate crime as the FBI continues its investigation to determine if a hate crime occurred.

The autopsy report showed traces of the drug THC, which is found in marijuana, in Martin’s blood and urine.

As reported earlier, the autopsy report also showed Trayvon Martin was killed at intermediate range and had a small abrasion, no more than a quarter-inch in size – on his left ring finger below the knuckle.

Tons of evidence is expected to be released soon in Zimmerman’s trial on a website run by the state’s attorney, including 67 CDs worth of documents, video of Martin on the night of the shooting, his autopsy report and videos of Zimmerman’s questioning by police.

Donna Summer, dubbed as the Queen of Disco, has died from lung cancer. She was 63.

Her family released a statement Thursday saying Summer had died and that they “are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy.”‘

At the time of her death, she was finishing up an album she was working on. Summer was a five-time Grammy winner best known for her hits “Last Dance,” “Hot Stuff” and “Bad Girls.”

TMZ reports, she was in Florida at the time of her death.

She co-wrote the single “Love to Love You Baby” in 1975, and went on to co-write several other hits, including “She Works Hard For Her Money.”

Summer appeared in the 1978 film, “Thank God It’s Friday,” which took home the best original song Oscar for “Last Dance.”

Summer married Brooklyn Dreams vocalist Bruce Sudano in 1980. She is survived by her husband, three daughters and four grandchildren.

She has also appeared on many comedy films such as House Party 2, House Party 3, Friday, and on Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam.  Yvette has experienced kidney failure, kidney transplants and cervical cancer, among other things. NBC News, is also reporting the autopsy also showed Martin had a fresh injury – a small abrasion, no more than a quarter-inch in size – on his left ring finger below the knuckle.

Separately, a medical report on Martin’s alleged killer, 28-year-old George Zimmerman, prepared by his personal physician the day after Martin’s shooting in Sanford, Fla., on Feb. 26, found that the Neighborhood Watch volunteer suffered a likely broken nose, swelling, two black eyes and cuts to the scalp.

Both documents are part of a mountain of evidence – up to 300 pages and 67 CDs of witness statements, surveillance videos and other material– expected to be made public soon in connection with the second-degree murder case against Zimmerman.

Zimmerman allegedly shot Martin during a confrontation inside the gated community in Sanford where Zimmerman was a neighborhood volunteer and where Martin was visiting his father’s fiancée.

After first reporting a suspicious person in the neighborhood in a phone call to Sanford police, Zimmerman followed the teenager before a fatal confrontation that remains shrouded in mystery.

George Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder and is currently out on bond.

Brown had been treated in the intensive care unit of Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore, according to sources.

Brown had been missing from the stage for about two months, prompting rumors on the Internet that he had died earlier this year.

Earlier this month, Brown was at Hopkins where he was admitted after complaining of arthritis. Doctors discovered blood clots in his legs. The blood clots were removed, but Brown also contracted pneumonia while hospitalized.

WFTV, an affiliate of the Orlando ABC, is reporting that the FBI is seeking to charge George Zimmerman with a hate crime.

WFTV has learned charges against George Zimmerman could be getting more serious.

State prosecutors said Zimmerman, a neighborhood watchman, profiled and stalked 17-year-old Trayvon Martin before killing him, so the FBI is now looking into charging him with a hate crime.

Zimmerman admitted to killing Martin in February during a confrontation. However, he claims the shooting was in self-defense. He’s facing a second-degree murder charge, which carries a maximum possible sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. But if Zimmerman is charged and found guilty of a federal hate crime involving murder, he could face the death penalty.

FBI investigators are actively questioning witnesses in the retreat at the Twin Lakes neighborhood, seeking evidence for a possible federal hate crime charge.

On Saturday May 12, 2012 the Phi Upsilon Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. collaborated with the Long Branch Housing Authority, and the Raising Him Alone Campaign to host the First Annual Mother’s Day Breakfast. The event was conducted to recognize mothers in the Monmouth County area, and to start the process of group mentoring activities for boys being raised by single mothers. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is the first international fraternal organization that was founded on the campus of a historically black college.

Two hundred people attended the event which was hosted at the Adam “Bucky” James Community Center, which is a part of the Long Branch Housing Authority. Three distinguished women were awarded the Mother of the Year Award for their contributions to the communities in which they live and serve. The honorees included: Dr. Denise Lowe (Superintendent of Asbury Park Schools), Mrs. Bertha Williams-Pullen (Assistant Superintendent of Neptune Public Schools) and Ms. Dorthia Johnson ( Commissioner, Long Branch Housing Authority.) Each mother in the audience was also provided a rose by their children, who were provided a few seconds to publicly state “I Love You Mom!”

The praise dancers of the Second Baptist Church also put on a beautiful performance of song and dance. They also performed an instrumental selection especially for the mothers.

The Phi Upsilon Chapter is celebrating 60 years of service in the Monmouth County area. As a follow up to the event the Men of Omega will provide group mentoring activities for boys that reside in the Long Branch Housing Authority and attend the Bucky James Center. Balfour has been convicted on all seven counts against him, which include three counts of first-degree murder, one count of home invasion, one count aggravated kidnapping, one count residential burglary, and one count possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

The verdict concludes the two-week Chicago trial that began April 23, 2012, which culminated in 83 witnesses and 500 pieces of evidence to build a circumstantial case.

Balfour, the ex-husband of Hudson’s sister, killed 57-year-old Darnell Hudson, 29-year-old Jason Hudson and 7-year-old Julian King. Prosecuters believe that Balfour shot the family in a jealous rage because ex-wife Julia Hudson was dating another man.

Balfour, 31, now faces a life sentence in prison.
