Asbury Park, NJ – According to the APP.com, the Asbury Park housing authority panel has asked federal housing officials and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s office to investigate recently resigned director, Mark Holmes, on mismanagement of funds. The housing authority indicates a recent audit shows misuse of state and federal funds.
Chairman of the authority’s board of commissioners, Kenneth Foster, said at a meeting on Monday that members just received a 2009-2010 audit, and believe financial problems the housing authority has might be a result of mismanagement of funds.
Foster also indicated there are policies and procedures being put in place to better monitor the executive director position.
Holmes was hired in January 2008 and was under contract to make approximately $125,000 when he resigned.
