Starting July 1st, anyone applying for welfare assistance in the state of Florida will have to pass a drug test in order to qualify for benefits. The recipient will have to submit a monthly urine, blood, or hair sample. If the sample is not clean, the recipient will have to reimburse the state $10-$25 for the test.
A first offense will result in a 6-month ban from Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Programs. A second offense will keep you off welfare for three years.
Is the government right for giving drug testing to welfare receipts?
