The legendary jazz trumpeter would have been 84 today.
Considered one of the most influential musicians in jazz history, Miles Davis along with his musical group was at the forefront of the development of jazz. His musical style was bebop, hard bop, modal, cool, and fusion jazz.
Davis recorded several albums during his career, but one that reached notability was Kind of Blue. Released in 1959 under Columbia Records Kind of Blue, based entirely on modal jazz, sold over four million copies and is considered to be “the best selling jazz record of all time”.
We remember Miles Davis. The man not only in the fore front of jazz music but music as a whole playing an instrumental part in every aspect of music genres from jazz to hip-hop.
