Friends and Family have vigil for former LB HS althete, Terry Paul

Long Branch, NJ – Family members and friends of Terry Paul, gathered at the LBCC field on Long Branch Ave. to remember the athlete who died unexpectedly in front of his college dorm.
According to WITN.com, Terrence “Terry” Paul collapsed in front of his East Carolina University dorm near 2 p.m.

The Greenville Medical Examiner’s Office listed the cause of death as cardiomyopathy, or inflammation of the heart.

Friends and family came out to remember the young man who was passionate about sports, who loved his family and friends. A young man who was all about doing the right things, who was baptized at Second Baptist Church in Long Branch about two years ago.

Paul’s aunt, remembered her beloved nephew as a good kid, who was getting ready to enter medical school upon graduation next year. She also expressed to the crowd to learn from her nephew, and to continue to carry on his legacy.

Paul, was a popular athlete who switched from playing football as a wide receiver to joining the track and field team.

After graduating from Long Branch High School in 2007, Paul attended Monmouth University and then transferred to East Carolina in Greenville, NC as a chemistry major.

At the vigil, funeral arrangements were announced. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 14, with remembrances from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Visiting will be from 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15 until his funeral service at 11 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 93 Liberty St., Long Branch. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.     Yes, I know the young’s man aunt.  Terry was an honorable human being.  He was studying to become a doctor.   He surely missed!
